Are you a diploma holder working in an industry and feeling stagnant in your job, hereafter you need not worry!!

Point is that there are many diploma holders who are employed in several industries in the state of Tamil Nadu. These persons have been finding it difficult regarding promotions or getting other job opportunities when compared to the engineering students. It is now revealed that to upgrade the educational qualifications of the diploma holders TN govt would be launching a new scheme.

By this new scheme, the diploma holders would be able to pursue engineering plus other technical courses under the Work Integrated Learning or WIL programme. It is well known to us that currently the students after completing plus 2 would have to study for 4 years to get an engineering degree. Later on, these engineering graduates seek employment in the industries.

It was brought out by a senior officer belonging to the higher education department that many diploma holders working in various industries were unable to pursue full-time technical courses from universities and colleges due to the lack of opportunities plus family pressure etc. It is true that working diploma holders feel stagnant in their jobs after a few years. He added that the extreme work pressure would make it impossible for the diploma holders to update with studies simultaneously.

The diploma holders would be able to get graduation as well as post-graduation certificates through this WIL scheme and the best part is they need not leave their work while studying.

It must be taken into note that a high level committee of experts, academicians and former vice-chancellors etc would be formed. The committee would soon come out with various courses that would be available for the diploma holders. Information is that the proposed WIL courses would be conducted during the weekends only and during public holidays only. In the beginning, only a limited number of seats for undergraduate and post-graduate courses would be there.

Later on, depending upon the requirements, the courses would be increased. It is noteworthy that the course wares and lecturers would be based on the digital learning and could be availed by online as well as by physical mode. The superb piece of information is that the course would be available in both English and regional languages so that more beneficiaries would take part. Through online and physical mode, exams would be conducted and working diploma holders could get industry recognised degrees along with their jobs.
