Coronavirus pandemic situation might affect the health but it won’t be able to stop the students from learning!!

For the academic year 2021-22, the TN Textbook and Educational Services Corporation has printed nearly 3.8crores of textbooks for the school students in TN. To the designated schools and to various godowns in TN, printers have delivered 91% of textbooks.

It was brought to light by an officer belonging to the textbook corporation that for the classes from 8th to 12th 100% of textbooks have been printed. He added that for other classes a small percentage of books are still to be delivered. The complete lockdown has been responsible for the delay in the printing of textbooks for the classes 1 and 2. The textbooks would be printed and then sent to respective schools once the lockdown is lifted.

In the month of January only, the printing of textbooks was started by the corporation as it was election year and the corporation was busy in activities regarding elections. To 120 designated centres, the textbooks have been moved in the months of March and April. In the coming weeks, the corporation would start printing the second volume of textbooks for classes 9 and 12.

After Coronavirus cases came down, some private schools had placed orders for the textbooks and it is now said that the textbook corporation would distribute textbooks to these private schools. To bridge the gap in online learning, the textbook corporation had also printed bridge course materials plus worksheets etc for the students of classes 1 to 9.

It is worth mentioning that the educationists have asked the TN government to deliver the textbooks at the doorsteps of the school students due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Information is that private schools are planning to get permission to take ten textbooks from the godowns and deliver them to the students.
