A plan to convert the Nursing Diploma course to a degree course

The Medical Council has decided to convert the present Diploma courses in Nursing faculty to Degree Courses.
The Indian Medical Council has granted approval to convert the 384seats for the post-graduate diploma courses to postgraduate degree courses. Thus, for the academic year 2019-20, admissions will be given for the available 1758 seats for the postgraduate MD and MS courses.
In a similar trend, the Indian Medical Council has also decided to convert the diploma courses in nursing to a degree course and devised the required changes n the rules and regulations.
So, before the academic year 2019-20, all the diploma courses in nursing in the government and private colleges in Tamil Nadu would be converted into degree courses. The Indian Medical Council officials are totally involved in the activities regarding this conversion.
