+2 Public exams set to start tomorrow (1st March) - 100 marks for each subject for the first time

The public examinations for the +2 students/candidates are all set to start tomorrow (Friday, 1st March). The students would be writing for the 1st time for a maximum of 100 marks each subject – this had been revised from the 200 marks system adopted earlier.

As per the Tamil Nadu ‘Samacheer Learning System’, the Public Examinations for the +2 classes are scheduled to commence tomorrow (1st March) and conclude on 19th March. Tomorrow’s 1st exam is on the language. The results will be released on 19th April.

A total of 2941 examination centres have been set up for these +2 public exams. A total of 887992 students/candidates from 7068 schools are writing the public exams in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. This total consists of 460006 girl students, 400101 boy student, 2 transgenders, 45 prisoners, and 26885 private candidates. A change has been carried out in the public exam system for the 1st time. According to this, the participants will be writing the public exams for a total of 600 marks (100 marks for each of the 6 subjects).

The public examination will start at 10.00 AM and conclude at 12.45 PM. In case there is a change in the hall ticket photo, the student/candidate has to carry another passport-size photo. The students should have consulted the headmaster/principal on this regard earlier itself.

All preparatory activities for conducting the public examination has been carried out on behalf of the Department of Examinations. 43000 teachers have been deployed as the public examinations supervisors/invigilators.

4000 flying squads have been arranged in order to avoid any maloperations or criminal offences. District Primary Education Officers, District Education Officers, Headmasters/principals are members of the flying squads. Under the leadership of the Revenue Department officials and Anna University Professors, flying squads have been formed.

The Tamil Nadu State Government Minister for School Education, K. A. Sengottaiyan, has greeted the students writing the public examinations and wished them. He has mentioned, ‘I extend my heartiest greetings that the students/candidates writing the +2 Public Examinations should be the ideal examples for the country!’
