NEET becomes mandatory for medical entrance

Posted on: 02/Aug/2016 5:39:42 PM
From next year, it will be mandatory to take up National Eligibility cum Entrance Test which is an entrance test for medical higher studies. The parliament has given its nod for the same.

Supreme court has ordered to conduct common entrance examination for all medical colleges including private ones. An emergency law to cancel the exam for the present academic year was introduced.

Now, the Indian medical council bill and dental bill were passed at the Lok Sabha. This was brought to the Rajya Sabha yesterday and an oral voting took place to make a call. After the approval by the president, this bill will turn into a law.

According to this law, from next year, in all the medical colleges across India, student admission will take place through common entrance exam.

Opposition by Tamil Nadu

Except AIADMK, all the other party members show great interest for this bill. In Tamil Nadu, entrance exam is cancelled and student admission takes place on the basis of marks scored.

In an argument in this regards, AIADMK MP, Navaneedhakrishnan said the reformation bill by the Indian medical council is against law. This will largely affect students from village. Following this, an AIADMK member walked out of the Sabha. Through this, eligible students can get admission in schools.
