The Greater Chennai Corporation has announced special coaching classes for students from Corporation schools who did not clear the Class 12 public examination, aiming to help them pass the upcoming June supplementary exams.

According to Chennai Corporation Education Department Joint Commissioner K. Karpagam, steps are being taken to improve pass percentages and ensure students successfully clear the Plus 2 examinations. Compared to last year, more students from Chennai Corporation schools passed the Higher Secondary examinations this year.

Officials stated that a total of 401 students failed in the Plus 2 public exams, while 11 students were absent for the examination. To support these students, special classes are being conducted by the Chennai Corporation education department ahead of the June supplementary examinations.

The civic body has also instructed school headmasters to ensure that students who passed the Plus 2 exams enroll in higher education courses. Schools have been advised to prepare detailed lists of students joining colleges and higher education institutions.

An advisory meeting regarding higher education admissions and student follow-up measures is scheduled to be held on the 13th of this month.
