Chennai Records 41.4°C as Heatwave Intensifies Across Tamil Nadu

The summer heat continues to intensify across Tamil Nadu, with Chennai`s Meenambakkam recording a maximum temperature of 41.4°C (106°F), making it one of the hottest places in the state.

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), 12 locations across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry witnessed extremely high temperatures on the day. Chennai`s Nungambakkam, Cuddalore, and Puducherry each recorded 40.2°C (104°F), reflecting the ongoing heatwave conditions.

Several other locations, including Adirampattinam, Karaikal, Madurai, Nagapattinam, Parangipettai, Thanjavur, Tiruttani, and Vellore, reported temperatures exceeding 38°C.

Weather officials have advised residents to take precautions against heat-related illnesses, stay hydrated, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours.

The soaring temperatures highlight the continued impact of summer weather across the region, with several districts experiencing above-normal daytime temperatures.
