Gold Rate Falls in Chennai Today (April 20, 2026 Morning Update)
Gold prices in Chennai have declined today, reversing the upward trend seen over the weekend and indicating a slight cooling in market momentum.
As per the latest update, the price of 22K gold has dropped to ₹14,300 per gram, marking a decrease of ₹60 compared to Saturday’s rate of ₹14,360. This brings the price of gold to ₹1,14,400 per sovereign (8 grams).
Similarly, 18K gold is now priced at ₹11,855 per gram, registering a sharper decline of ₹125 per gram.
Meanwhile, silver prices remain unchanged today. The rate of silver stands steady at ₹280 per gram, showing no variation compared to the previous rate.
The dip in gold prices comes after a brief rise during the weekend, suggesting mild fluctuations in the market. However, with Akshaya Tritiya approaching, buying interest is expected to stay active, and price movements may continue to fluctuate based on global trends and local demand.
