Traffic Diversions in Chennai Due to Pothole Issue on Perambur Barracks Road

Following the unexpected development of a large pothole in the sewage line along Perambur Barracks Road near K P Garden in Pulianthope on Sunday evening, the Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) has announced traffic diversions in effect from Sunday until September 23. Here are the details of the diversions:
1. Vehicles coming from Perambur, Vyasarpadi, and Pulianthope will not be permitted to proceed towards Central and Parrys via Perambur Barracks Road (in the incoming direction). Instead, these vehicles will be rerouted towards Pulianthope High Road to reach their intended destinations.
2. Vehicles originating from Perambur and Ayanavaram will not be allowed to travel towards Egmore via Perambur Barracks Road (in the incoming direction). These vehicles will be directed towards Bricklin Road and Purasaiwakkam High Road to reach their destinations.
3. All vehicles, except for commercial vehicles from Doveton, will be allowed to travel towards Perambur, Vyasarpadi, Ayanavaram, and Pulianthope solely via Perambur Barracks Road, operating as a one-way route for reaching their destinations.
4. Commercial vehicles departing from Doveton towards Perambur, Vyasarpadi, and Madhavaram will not be permitted to proceed via Perambur Barracks Road. Instead, they will be redirected through Doveton - Hunters Road, Choolai High Road, Choolai Roundabout, and Basin Elephant Gate Road, ultimately reaching their intended destinations via Basin Bridge Top.
Please note that these traffic diversions are in place due to the pothole issue and will remain in effect until September 23. Drive safely and follow the designated routes to avoid any inconvenience.
