From this December 2022 till August 2023, traffic diversions will be there in the Arcot Road in Chennai!!

Now, traffic diversions have been announced by the Chennai City Traffic police on the highly popular Arcot Road in Chennai. This would be mainly to facilitate the metro phase-2 construction works along this road from the Kodambakkam Power House to Porur. It was revealed by the official release from the Chennai traffic police dept that the diversions would take place from 15th of December to 23rd of August 2023 for a time of 8 months.
It is learnt that a stretch on the Arcot Road from Gandhi Street Junction to Radhakrishnan Road Junction( Lamech school junction) would be made one way for the vehicles. Only through the Porur side, the vehicles would be allowed. Those vehicles coming from Porur to Vadapalani at the Arcot Road- Lamech school junction would be diverted to take left at Dr. Radhakrishnan Road.
The vehicles would then be allowed to take right at Chintamani Vinayagar Koil Street and take right at Gandhi Road to reach the Arcot Road (Aavin Junction). It is noteworthy that those vehicles coming from Kamarajar Salai and Nehru Salai would have to take right at the Arcot Road to reach Porur no left turn would be permitted on the Arcot Road. From Virugambakkam, the vehicles would be allowed to go to Porur as usual.
