Supreme Court Collegium Recommends New Chief Justice for Madras High Court

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari as the next Chief Justice of the Madras High Court.
Justice Dharmadhikari is presently serving as a Judge of the Kerala High Court, with his parent High Court being Madhya Pradesh. His name has been recommended in view of the impending retirement of the current Chief Justice, who is set to demit office on March 5, 2026.
The recommendation is part of the Collegium’s ongoing efforts to ensure continuity and strengthen judicial administration in High Courts across the country. The appointment will take effect after approval by the Central Government and issuance of the official notification.
