Tamil Nadu Schools to Reopen on June 4, 2026

The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has announced that all schools across the state will reopen on June 4, 2026, for students from Classes 1 to 12. The reopening date was postponed due to ongoing heatwave conditions, high humidity, and weather concerns across Tamil Nadu.
Earlier, schools for Classes 4 to 12 were scheduled to reopen on June 1. However, after requests from parents and teachers, the government decided to reopen all classes together on June 4 for student safety and convenience.
The order applies to government, aided, matriculation, and private schools across Tamil Nadu.
