Superb news!! TTDCs new package tours have been successful!!
The recently introduced package tours by TTDC or Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation have borne fruits now. The reason is that TTDC has earned more than Rs 2 crores from these package tours.
On Thursday, 9th October, TN Tourism minister Mr. R. Rajendran took part in a review meeting. He spoke about how TTDC has earned Rs 2.37 crores from the new package tours. These tours include a 8 day Goa tour, 4 day Arupadai Veedu tour, 1 day Tirruvannamalai tour, 3 day Ooty, Kodaikanal and Munnar tours and many newly launched packages etc.
There has been an increase in the foreign exchange earnings due to increase in both domestic as well as foreign tourists visiting TN units, boat houses, youth hostels etc. Moreover, package tours have also been responsible for the increase in the foreign exchange earnings by TTDC.
It must be noted that the TN Tourism minister has instructed the TTDC hotels and boathouses etc to provide high quality food services for both domestic and international tourists. Maintenance of all infrastructural facilities has been given huge importance. For pleasant experience for all the tourists, any issues in the basic amenities must be rectified immediately and this was emphasised by the minister.
Performances of package tours were reviewed by the minister. He also reviewed island resort operations and other developmental works. It is worthy to note that the minister discussed the progress regarding the decisions made during the previous review meeting. The standard operating manual of TTDC was released by the minister.
