Dhanush to Direct Son Yatra’s Acting Debut in a Mass Commercial Entertainer

Actor-filmmaker Dhanush is reportedly set to direct the acting debut of his eldest son, Yatra. The project is expected to be produced by RTake Studios, which is also backing Dhanush’s upcoming film with director Rajkumar Periyasamy.

According to industry sources, Yatra has been actively training in acting and dance as part of preparations for his big-screen debut. The film is said to be a commercial entertainer inspired by the iconic mass-hero image of his grandfather, Rajinikanth, particularly from classics like Billa and Murattukaalai.

A test shoot is expected to take place soon in Chennai. Cinematographer Velraj is likely to handle the camera, while composer G.V. Prakash Kumar is reportedly in talks to score the music.

The movie is expected to begin production either later this year or in early 2027. Sources also suggest that the film will feature a strong ensemble cast and will be launched at a grand event in Chennai.

Yatra has often attracted attention on social media due to his resemblance to Rajinikanth, and fans are eagerly awaiting an official announcement regarding his acting debut.
