From 2019, iPhones would be made in Chennai

Many these days use iPhones and buy these mobile phones for huge amounts. The sensational piece of news is from the next year that is from 2019, iPhones would be manufactured in Chennai and these mobile phones would be of various models. It is well known that in Sriperumbudur in Chennai is located the famous mobile manufacturing unit ‘Foxconn’. This company would be manufacturing iPhones depending upon their demand. On Monday, 24th December 2018, chief minister of TN, Mr. E. Palaniswami, announced this in the cabinet meeting.
For the last one and half years, Foxconn has been manufacturing mobile phones of various companies. It is now said that manufacture of iPhones by Foxconn would be fantastic as the company is highly popular. The Foxconn’s manufacturing unit is present on the Chennai- Bengaluru highway at Sriperumbudur and a separate manufacturing unit has been created by the company for iPhone manufacturing.
The amazing point is Foxconn has got huge workforce of 15000 with 90 percent of them being women. Sources have confirmed that when the production of iPhones begins then the company would recruit more people. The role played by the electricity minister, Mr. P. Thangamani must not be forgotten here. It was he who persuaded the Foxconn management to stay the course in Tamil Nadu instead of moving to other state. This was confirmed by a source belonging to the government.
The information gathered was the manufacture of electronic goods in the state of TN is on par with automobile industries. This is because of support given by the state government.
It was in the year 1984 Foxconn group was first founded and this electronics manufacturing company has got headquarters located in New Taipei in Taiwan. In the year 2006 Foxconn began manufacturing mobile phones in the SEZ in Chennai is well known.
