Chief Minister Vijay to Launch ‘Singappen’ Rapid Response Force on June 9
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay is set to launch the much-anticipated ‘Singappen’ Rapid Response Force on June 9 at Rajarathinam Stadium in Egmore, Chennai. The special unit has been created exclusively to address crimes against women and strengthen emergency response systems across the State.
The force, which will function under the direct supervision of the Chief Minister, was announced shortly after the TVK government assumed office. Though initially scheduled for launch on May 28, the event was postponed and is now set to be officially inaugurated on Tuesday.
Senior IPS officer K. Bhavaneeswari has been appointed to head the unit. The force will include a Superintendent of Police, Deputy Superintendents, Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors, and other police personnel dedicated to responding swiftly to crimes against women.
A unique uniform has also been introduced for women police personnel attached to the ‘Singappen’ force. The government is expected to reveal the operational framework and deployment strategy of the special unit during the launch event.
The initiative is aimed at enhancing women`s safety and ensuring faster response to emergencies across Tamil Nadu.
