Heavy Rain Warning for 6 Tamil Nadu Districts; Thunderstorms and Strong Winds Forecast

The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, has issued a heavy rain warning for Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Nilgiris, Dindigul, Erode, and Theni districts. Thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds are expected in isolated places across these districts.

Moderate rainfall is also likely over the Delta districts, parts of North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, while light to moderate rain may occur in other parts of the state. A trough extending from the north coastal Tamil Nadu region to the Kanyakumari Sea is influencing the weather conditions. Chennai and its suburbs are expected to experience partly cloudy skies.

The weather office has also warned of strong winds reaching up to 65 km/h over parts of the southwest Bay of Bengal and up to 60 km/h over the Kerala-Karnataka coast and adjoining Arabian Sea. Fishermen and the public are advised to stay updated with the latest weather advisories and take necessary precautions.
