Prospects of rains with cyclonic winds today (6th July) in Tamil Nadu

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects of rain with cyclonic winds in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry today (Friday, 6th July) due to the phenomenon of thermal convection.
The officials explained that due to thermal convection prevailing, there are prospects of rain with thunder in 1 or 2 places today (6th July) in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
The Chennai Metro City will remain generally cloudy. There are prospects of mild rain with thunder in the evening or the night sessions.
As strong winds are blowing at high speeds from the southwest and western directions, there are prospects winds blowing at high speeds of 45 kmph in the North Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coastal areas and at 60 kmph in the southern coastal areas. So, the fishermen are strictly advised venturing into the sea with extreme caution.
