Chennai Meteorological Centre issues warning to fishermen in southern districts

The Chennai Meteorological system has warned the fishermen in the Southern coastal districts not to venture into the sea in the next 24 hours as the sea is stormy with turbulent waves.

The officials of the Chennai Meteorological Centre explained in this regard that strong winds have been blowing from the southwest direction in the Arabian Sea area towards Tamil Nadu. Due to this, there are prospects of strong winds blowing\g at a speed of 55 kmph in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. So, the sea and the waves in the southern Tamil Nadu coastal areas will be stormy and turbulent.

So, the fishermen are warned not to venture into the sea in the next 24 hours.

Due to thermal convection and the southwest monsoon season, there are prospects of rain with thunder in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the next few days.

The Chennai Metro City  will remain generally cloudy. There are prospects of thunderclouds forming during the evening or the night sessions.
