Depression zone intensifies: Prospects of heavy rains the next day after election

A depression was formed in the Southeast of Sri Lanka in the Bay of Bengal. This has intensified into a marked depression zone and moving towards the Tamil Nadu coast area.
The meteorological department has announced that there will be heavy rains in the coastal areas due to this and there are prospects of heavy rains on 16th May.
However, in a weather bulletin released today, it has been informed that there will be heavy or very heavy rains in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on 17th May (The next day after the election day on 16th May).
It has been informed that there will be heavy or very heavy rains from 8.30 AM till the next 24 hours on 18th May in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
