- Special train from Coimbatore – Chennai Central will leave Coimbatore Jn at 22.40 hrs on 05.12.2015.
- Special train from Chennai Central – Coimbatore will leave Chennai Central at 22.10.hrs. on 05.12.2015.
- Cloudy weather will prevail here in Chennai and a few regions may receive sporadic rainfall.
- Rain showers will continue till 8th of this month in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. From 9th of this month, there will be no rainfall alert and from 11th of December, rainfall will eventually reduce.
- Rainfall is likely to continue for the next 24 hours in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, according to Ramanan of Meteorological department.

- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has announced that the passengers can travel free of cost for four days from 5th December.Normality is now returning gradually in the flood affected districts of Chennai, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur. At this juncture, people would be travelling to different places. Therefore the MTC buses would be operated free of cost to the travelling public from December 5 to 8.
- A special train will be operated from Chennai Beach to Bangalore on 05.12.2015. The train will leave Chennai Beach at 16.30 hrs. on 05.12.2015.
- Suburban train services between Chennai Egmore – Tambaram have been commenced.
- Chennai Banks will remain opened on Dec 6,2015,even though it is a Sunday.
- A team of the Airports Authority of India has carried out inspection of the operational area of the Chennai airport. and in consultation with all the stakeholders, including all airline operators and regulatory authorities, declared that Chennai aerodrome is available for limited day time operations under Visual Meteorological Conditions for technical ferry and relief flight.. Subsequently, this would be upgraded to all weather operations as and when facilities are restored.
- Presently more than 50 teams (including BAUT based Rescue & Relief Teams, Engineer Teams & Medical Teams) are operating in Tambaram, Urapakkam, Mannivakkam, Mudichur, Defence Colony, T Nagar, Kothurpuram, Kasi Theatre & Perungudi which are the more affected areas presently.
