865 Special Buses Announced for Weekend Travel from Chennai - TNSTC
To manage the increased passenger demand during the weekend holidays, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) has announced the operation of 865 special buses from Chennai and other major cities.
In addition to the regular daily bus services, special buses will operate from Kilambakkam Bus Terminus in Chennai to major destinations including Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, and Tiruppur.
- 310 special buses will run on Friday (March 6)
- 325 special buses will run on Saturday (March 7)
Similarly, from Koyambedu Bus Terminus, special buses will operate to Tiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur, and Bengaluru, with 55 buses each on Friday and Saturday.
In addition, 100 special buses will be operated from cities such as Bengaluru, Tiruppur, Erode, and Coimbatore to various destinations. Another 20 buses will operate from Madhavaram on Friday and Saturday.
To help passengers return after the weekend, special buses will also be operated on Sunday (March 8) from various towns back to Chennai and Bengaluru, depending on passenger demand.
Officials have advised passengers to plan their travel in advance and book tickets early to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
