108 Ambulance Service Now Accessible via WhatsApp Chatbot in Tamil Nadu
Accessing emergency ambulance services has become easier for people in Tamil Nadu. The State Health Department has introduced a new WhatsApp Chatbot facility that allows the public to request the 108 ambulance service directly through WhatsApp.
The new facility was launched on Thursday by Health Minister Ma. Subramanian. Through this service, people can simply send “Hi” via WhatsApp to the Tamil Nadu Health System Project number – 94450 30725 to request an ambulance.
Once the message is sent, users can share their location, after which an “Incident ID” will be generated for ambulance dispatch. The system also provides real-time updates, details of the ambulance vehicle, information about the nearest government hospital, and tracking facilities to ensure transparency and faster response.
Officials said that this initiative will help reduce pressure on the traditional emergency call system and make it easier for the public to access ambulance services quickly during emergencies.
