Required ingredients:
- Fried gram – 200 gm
- Sugar – 100 gm
- Ghee – 100 gm
- Cashew nuts – 10 No
Method:
- Fine grind the fried gram in a mixer and extract only the fine flour using a sieve strainer
- Fine grind the sugar as well
- Heat the ghee in a pan. Make sure that this process is only to liquidize the ghee without any lumps
- Take a bowl and add strained fried gram flour and strained fine sugar. Mix it with ghee
- Once all the three gets mixed with each other well, make the mixture into desired shapes
- Place the sweet on a plate. Ensure that while plating, one sweet doesn’t touch the other
- You can place one cashew in each of the sweet pieces
- Let it get dried for about half a day. This can then be stored in a container
Note:
- This dish doesn’t require the user of gas stove at all – except the need to heat ghee
- Fried gram is rich in protein
- This gram can be used in soup, porridge, chutney or other side dish varieties that are cooked mainly for kids
- Fried gram is also helpful as a thickening agent in dishes like Sambar, Kuruma and Kuzhambu varieties
- It is also rich in calcium, potassium and magnesium
- Fried gram is fat free and sodium free and hence it suits consumption for heart patients
- As it contains high level of fiber, it is helpful to get rid of constipation
- It is low in calories and high in iron content
- Helps control cholesterol level
