India Post has launched a 24-hour Speed Post delivery service in Chennai, aiming to provide faster and more reliable delivery of letters and parcels.
The new service ensures that documents and parcels are delivered within 24 hours or within the committed delivery time, improving efficiency for individuals, businesses and e-commerce shipments. Officials said the initiative is part of India Post’s efforts to modernize postal services and compete with private courier companies.
Under the upgraded Speed Post system, customers can also benefit from real-time tracking, SMS updates, OTP-based delivery confirmation and digital payment options. These features will help improve transparency and allow customers to monitor the delivery status of their parcels.
Postal officials stated that the new service will enhance logistics efficiency and provide faster communication services for people sending urgent documents and packages within the city and nearby regions.
