Tamil Nadu Announces Chief Minister's Police Medals 2026 for Excellence in Anti-Drug Operations

On the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Tamil Nadu Government has announced the recipients of the Chief Minister`s Police Medal for Outstanding Service in Preventing Drug Production and Illicit Trafficking for the year 2026.

According to an official government release, the Chief Minister`s Police Medal has been awarded annually since 2023 to police officers and personnel who have made exceptional contributions towards preventing the production, distribution, and illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs across the State.

For the 2026 awards, the Tamil Nadu Government has selected the following officers and police personnel for their exemplary service in combating drug-related crimes:

S. Lakshmanan, Additional Superintendent of Police, Narcotics Intelligence Wing, Chennai

The Tamil Nadu Government stated that the awards recognise the dedication, professionalism, and outstanding efforts of police personnel in strengthening the State`s fight against drug abuse and illegal narcotics trafficking.
