Tamil Nadu is witnessing intense summer heat, with temperatures crossing 100°F in at least 12 locations, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai.

Districts including Vellore, Dharmapuri, Erode, Salem, and others recorded extremely high temperatures, indicating strong heatwave conditions across the state.

Gopichettipalayam (Karur district): 105.44°F

Vellore: 104.36°F

Dharmapuri & Erode: 103.1°F

Salem & Madurai: Around 102°F

Namakkal: 101.3°F

Tirupattur: 100.4°F

Madurai City, Palani, Tiruchirappalli: Around 100°F

Rain Forecast

A trough extending from southern Assam to south Tamil Nadu, passing through Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and interior Karnataka, is influencing weather conditions.

Due to this system, light rain with gusty winds is likely in:

- Western Ghats districts
- Coastal areas of delta districts
- Ramanathapuram district

There is also a possibility of rain and thunderstorms in Chennai.
