Over 89,000 Students Apply for Tamil Nadu Government Arts and Science College Admissions 2026

Admissions to undergraduate courses in government arts and science colleges across Tamil Nadu have witnessed strong response this year, with a total of 89,927 students applying for admission so far.

According to the official statement released by the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Collegiate Education, online applications for undergraduate admissions began on May 7 through the centralized admission portal.

Admissions Open for 181 Government Colleges

Tamil Nadu currently has:

- 181 Government Arts and Science Colleges
- 159 undergraduate course categories
- 1,26,959 total seats available

Students are applying for various UG degree programmes through the online counselling process conducted by the state government.
