Special Weekly Train Announced Between Mangaluru and Chennai Egmore for Summer Rush

To manage the summer holiday travel rush, the Southern Railway has announced a special weekly train service between Mangaluru and Chennai Egmore.

Mangaluru to Chennai Egmore Special Train

The special train will operate every Monday from May 4 to June 8, departing from Mangaluru at 4:00 PM. The train will pass through key stations including Kasargod, Kannur, Thalassery, Vadakara, Kozhikode, Tirur, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Arakkonam, Tiruvallur, and Perambur, before reaching Chennai at 10:55 AM the next day.

Arrival at Erode: 2:10 AM
Arrival at Salem Junction: 3:17 AM

Chennai Egmore to Mangaluru Return Service

In the return direction, the train will depart from Chennai Egmore Railway Station every Tuesday at 2:00 PM and reach Mangaluru by 7:00 AM the following day.

Departure from Salem Junction: 7:35 PM
Departure from Erode: 8:35 PM

Train Service Changes Due to Track Work

Due to track maintenance work at Namakkal yard, changes have been announced for certain train services on April 29 and May 1:

Train No. 16811 (Mayiladuthurai – Salem Express) will operate only between Mayiladuthurai and Karur. Service between Karur and Salem will remain cancelled.

Train No. 16812 (Salem – Mayiladuthurai Express) will run only from Karur to Mayiladuthurai, instead of starting from Salem. The section between Salem and Karur will not be operated.

Railway officials have advised passengers to check updated schedules and plan their journey accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
