Authorities in Tiruvallur district have enforced a strict drone ban within a 3-kilometre radius of key vote-counting centres to ensure maximum security during the counting process.
The announcement was made by District Collector M. Prathap, who emphasized that the move is aimed at protecting Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and maintaining law and order during the crucial phase of election counting.
Counting Centres and Constituencies
Vote counting will take place at two major locations:
Sevvapet (near Tiruvallur):
Counting for Gummidipoondi, Ponneri (SC), Tiruvallur, and Tiruttani constituencies will be held at the Government Polytechnic College.
Perumalpattu:
Counting for Avadi, Maduravoyal, Tiruvottiyur, Poonamallee (SC), Ambattur, and Madhavaram constituencies will be conducted at Sri Ram Vidya Mandir Matric Higher Secondary School and Sri Ram Polytechnic College campus.

Officials have clearly stated that any violation of the drone ban will lead to strict legal action, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to a secure and transparent counting process.
