The Phase-2 expansion of Chennai International Airport’s terminal is expected to be completed by December 2026, according to the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
The project, which faced delays due to steel supply disruptions linked to West Asia tensions, was originally scheduled for June 2026. Despite challenges, contractors have been instructed to meet the revised deadline.
Currently, over 40% of construction is complete, with the main structure ready and façade work underway. Interior works will begin once the roofing is finished.
