Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Rain Likely for Next 6 Days
The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, has forecast rain across Tamil Nadu for the next six days due to a low-pressure area formed over the Gulf of Mannar region.
Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in several parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal from May 11 to May 16, 2026.
Heavy rain warning has been issued for districts including Ramanathapuram, Tirunelveli, Kanniyakumari, Thoothukudi, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, and Pudukkottai on specific days.
From May 13 to May 16, western districts such as Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Erode, Salem, Tiruppur, and Dharmapuri may also receive heavy rainfall.
Chennai is expected to witness partly cloudy skies with chances of light to moderate rain.
The weather department has advised fishermen not to venture into the sea till May 14 due to strong winds over the Bay of Bengal.
