Commuters in Chennai should note an important update from Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL). The B4 entrance at Nandanam Metro station will be permanently closed from March 23, 2026, as part of ongoing infrastructure development works.

The entrance, located near the BSNL office on Anna Salai, is being shut to facilitate Phase-II metro rail construction and integration activities. Officials stated that the move is necessary to support the expansion of the Chennai Metro network and to improve long-term connectivity across the city.

Despite the closure, metro train services at Nandanam station will continue as usual without any disruption. Passengers are advised to use alternative entry and exit points available at the station.

Commuters can access the station through A2 and A3 entrances on one side, while B1, B2, and B3 entrances on the opposite side of Anna Salai will remain open for public use.

To assist passengers, Chennai Metro authorities have installed clear signboards and directions around the station premises. Staff will also be available to guide commuters and ensure a smooth transition.

CMRL has requested cooperation from the public and expressed regret for any inconvenience caused. The closure is part of the larger Chennai Metro Phase-II project, aimed at enhancing urban transport infrastructure and easing traffic congestion in the city.
