Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Heavy Rain Alert Issued for 11 Districts Today

The Chennai Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall in 11 districts of Tamil Nadu today as weather conditions continue to change across the state. While many regions are experiencing scorching summer heat, several areas have also been receiving intermittent rainfall over the past few days.

According to the latest weather report, heavy rain is likely in Theni, Madurai, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Kanyakumari, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Karur, and Dindigul districts.

The weather department stated that changing atmospheric conditions and moisture movement are expected to trigger rainfall in interior and western parts of Tamil Nadu. Residents in the rain alert districts are advised to remain cautious and prepared for sudden showers, thunderstorms, and localized waterlogging in low-lying areas.

The recent rainfall is expected to bring temporary relief from the intense heatwave conditions prevailing across Tamil Nadu.
