SHOCKING!! COVID spreading wider and faster now than before in Chennai, high TPR

More than 6000 Coronavirus cases get reported per day in Chennai these days and this has made the test positivity rate or TPR to increase up to 23.6% now. It must not be forgotten that on 29th April, the TPR in Chennai was 20percent. Point is that at present 23 out of every 100th person is testing positive for Covid-19 infection in Chennai. This has made many to worry more as the Coronavirus spread has been wider and faster.
The hospitals in Chennai are being overburdened with many Covid-19 patients and this rise in TRP is sending worrying signals. It is known that TN has been preparing to ramp up beds and supply oxygen. It is learnt that 6291 persons have been tested positive for Coronavirus infection in Chennai on Wednesday. For getting early treatment, the hospitals have urged people to utilise Covid care centres in Chennai.
It was mentioned by a health officer that many deaths take place due to delay in testing and reaching the healthcare centres late. He added that those who come to the centres have symptoms 4 to 5 days before they have a Covid-19 test. The Coronavirus infection spread was intense in the north Chennai localities in the first wave and this was due to the presence of many closely packed houses.
Truth is that now in the second wave the Covid-19 infection spread in places like Royapuram and Tondiarpet has been minimal. This was highlighted by an assistant zonal health officer. The door-to-door fever surveillance staff encourage the people to get vaccinated now.
