Tamil Nadu - Coronavirus - for the 1st time: 203 cases! 1,312 discharged! - Health Minister

The State Health Minister Vijayabhaskar informed that on a single day today (1st May) 203 persons were confirmed with coronavirus infection! The total number of affected persons has now gone up to 2,526!

As one of the preventive measures against the spreading of the raging coronavirus pandemic, the lockdown has been imposed throughout the country until 3rd May. However, as more and more people are getting infected with every passing day, the number of persons affected has been alarmingly increasing!

The Central health Department has informed that the total number of affected persons in the country has increased to 37,257. Total deaths are 1,223. So far, 10,005 persons have recovered after treatment and were discharged.

In this scenario, Tamil Nadu State Health Minister Vijayabhaskar has informed that 203 persons have been confirmed with coronavirus infection today (1st May). He shared:
  • So far, 1,312 persons have recovered and have been discharged. Today, 54 persons were discharged.
  • One more person died today making the total loss of lives in the state 28.
  • Tests were taken for 1,29,329 persons so far. Today alone, 9,615 persons were tested. In Chennai Metro City, 3,100 persons were tested.
  • Corona tests are being conducted in 45 centers in Tamil Nadu, which is the largest in the country! 1035 persons are under treatment.
  • 51.90% have recovered from coronavirus infection so far in the state. Tamil Nadu has the largest percentage (%) of recovery in the whole country!
  • As population density is rather very high in Chennai Metro city, it has been a real challenge to control the virus spreading!
  • Out of the persons who have recovered and returned home, none so far has been infected a 2nd time!
  • As of today, 12 districts in Tamil Nadu have been affected by a coronavirus.
  • Out of the affected persons so far, 1,670 are men. 856 are women.
  • Presently, many zones originally of orange, are now being changed into red zones!
  • More tests is being undertaken in all districts. The medical experts have advised that taking more tests is recommended.
  • The state of Tamil Nadu is still under the protection zone!
