As many as 67 cluster containment zones of Chennai Corporation now sealed

As of Tuesday, 7th April 2020, Chennai Corporation had identified as many as 67 cluster containment zones in Chennai. This was mainly done to avoid spreading of Corona virus.
It must be taken into note that there are 149 Corona virus positive cases from Chennai Corporation itself and this was out of a total of 690 positive cases in Tamil Nadu. Chennai Corporation has been involved in putting temporary barricades on the streets that are very near to the houses of Corona virus positive persons to prevent restriction in the movement is known.
As many as 39 new positive cases were reported on Tuesday and as a result of that the total number of positive Corona cases in Chennai alone shot up to 149 from Monday’s 110 cases.
The Chennai Corporation had pointed out that Royapuram zone had the maximum Corona positive cases of 22 clusters with 27 cases and this was followed by Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar of 11 clusters with 14 positive cases. Mr. Alby John Verghese, regional deputy director (south), had mentioned in Twitter thread about various steps taken by the civic body from perimeter control to contact tracing to mass disinfection etc.
He also revealed about the barricades that were put on the streets close to the Corona virus positive person`s house and how influx and efflux of vehicles were restricted. The civic body also ensured that there was no scarcity of necessary provisions. Important information is all the contacts of the Corona virus positive patients were identified and listed. These contacts were asked to be hospital quarantine.
