By these ways, we can reduce the salt intake effectively!!

Eating foods with salt in sufficient amounts is okay for the health but when consumed in excess it is dangerous for the health. It is true that by intake of foods with salt would help in nerve function, muscle function plus in maintaining the right balance of water as well as minerals. Majority of us consume only excess salt as we find it tough to restrict various foods like cookies, soups, sandwiches etc that have salts. Consuming excess amounts of salts over a period of time would lead to several health problems In us. For us to manage the BP plus the health of kidneys etc we must reduce the consumption of salts.

Various ways by which we could reduce the salt intake are

By avoiding packaged foods:
It is necessary that we must reduce buying canned packaged foods and stored foods etc. These have high levels of sodium in them. Eating whole processed foods would be better.

By avoiding table salt:
It is better to avoid adding table salt to the foods by sprinkling salt over the foods and adding salts while cooking also.

By avoiding sea foods etc:
To avoid excess intake of sodium, we must try to avoid salty sea foods like salt water fishes etc. We can also use potassium based salts also.

By eating fresh fruits and vegetables etc:
Point is that instead of canned foods and frozen foods etc and consuming fresh fruits and vegetables intake of sodium can be restricted well.

By cooking instead of ordering foods from outside:
Many these days order food from outside and do not cook in their homes. It is said that home cooked food is superior to the foods from outside.

By checking labels:
We must check the labels while buying food from outside shops etc. We must ensure that the foods are low in sodium content. Eating the salty foods in smaller proportions would be good.

By adding spices and seasonings etc:
Garlic, cumin, onion powder plus ginger, black pepper, coriander leaves etc are various spices and seasonings that can be added. By this, we would be able to lower the intake of salt.
