Converting food into energy is done by biotin or vitamin B7. Also known as vitamin H or water soluble vitamin, biotin plays an important role in the maintenance of the health of nails, hairs etc. In addition to these, biotin supports the functioning of the brain plus it regulates immune function also.

Our body does not store biotin that is water soluble and therefore we must have biotin by eating foods rich in biotin. Issues that could be possible due to lack of biotin are seizures, numbness, intellectual disability etc. There would also be skin issues like rashes near eyes, nose and mouth plus hair loss etc.

We must consume these biotin rich foods without fail and the biotin rich foods are

Intake of egg yolk:

Our daily requirement of biotin would be met if we consume egg yolk rich in biotin. Egg as a whole is rich in proteins, minerals, vitamins etc. It is revealed that protein avidin that is present in the raw eggs would bind to biotin and would prevent biotin adsorption in the body.

Intake of nuts and seeds:

Our body would get fibres, proteins and fats plus biotin if we consume nuts and seeds. They could be either consumed in raw form or added to fried dishes.

Intake of mushrooms:

Protein, selenium and fibres are present in all mushrooms is a known fact. Truth is biotin present in mushrooms protects mushrooms from the predators and parasites etc. Mushrooms could be consumed by adding to salads or by having them sautéed.

Intake of broccoli:

Broccoli is a nutrient dense vegetable and it has vitamins, mineral and other bioactive compounds in it.  Broccoli could be consumed as streamed or in roasted form.

Intake of avocado:

Avocados have vitamin B, C, K, folates, potassium etc and they could be consumed either as mashed avocados onto the toast or as toppings on the salads.
