Otherwise called Japanese horseradish, wasabi is a plant belonging to the family called ‘Brassicaceae’.

It is important to mention that this plant grows naturally along stream beds in mountain river valleys of Japan. Point is wasabi is hot and pungent and it has got a compound isothiocyanates in it. It is said that this compound is highly superb for our health.
