Be careful when you consume these foods as they could cause bloating in the stomach

Generally associated with functional gastrointestinal issues, bloating is a symptom that could affect any person of any age. The person affected with bloating would feel full and tight abdomen. It is now said that 16 to 30 % of people experience bloating often.

It is well known that fruits are light to consume plus they have natural sugars and give us superb energy. Not many know that there are certain fruits that could cause bloating in us. There is no need to exclude these fruits from the diet but enough caution is needed when consuming them.

The fruits that could cause bloating in the stomach are

Intake of apples:

This is highly favoured fruit for many of us. Rich in antioxidants, apples could result in bloating in the stomach. The fructose present in apples could also create issue as it takes time to be digested. So while consuming apple eat half apple first and chew it slowly. Bu this stomach would have enough time to digest it.

Pears intake:

Pears intake is good as it has got soluble fibre pectin in it and this pectin helps in lowering our cholesterol and keeps us full. Sorbitol is also present in pears and this sorbitol is absorbed more slowly into the small intestines. It could pass into our colon and it ferments there creating bloating etc.

Consumption of grapes:

We all like to eat grapes as they are tasty. These grapes contain sugar which does not get digested completely by our small intestine. As a result it gets struck in the large intestine leading to bloating.

Intake of dried apricots:

The dried apricots keep fermenting in our intestines as these are rich in sugar and fibre. When consumed these dried apricots take time to get digested and could result in gas and bloating in the stomach.
