Most of the times the consumption of eggs falls into a debate dividing experts into two broad categories. One of them points out the ill effects of consuming egg in terms of cholesterol raising and tag it as a major cause of heart disease. Whereas another group points out the pure fat content in the whole egg that gives all essential nutrients to human body. Recent results have experimented the egg consumption with big live samples and shown the results on a much balanced scale. Eating eggs is very healthy but the quantity matters the most. Eating more than three eggs a day can bring some negative effects says the research.

Eggs are not dangerous and they will not increase the possibility of any kind of heart disease or lifestyle imbalances in human beings. But eating whole eggs on a rather large proportion everyday can be reversal of the causing formation of bad LDL cholesterol in the body.

Relation between Cholesterol and Eggs

Eggs are considered as a very rich source of protein and fat. Some say eggs have a dietary cholesterol of 185 mg. But cholesterol is a substance that is produced by our own liver for the purpose of repairing damaged cells and to store it as fat in the body. So the fact of cholesterol in eggs may be true as it is a fat form of another bird.  Saturated fat in the eggs are termed as cholesterol content that brings about the variations in our tested blood samples.

When an egg is consumed the body tends to break down the saturated fat into short chains of fatty acids. These fatty acids are not absorbed as whole molecule by the gut resulting in the increase of cholesterol level. When regularly consumed in a large quantity this can lead to heart disease and other defects in the form of excess fat storage in the body especially in the blood stream.

HDL (Good Cholesterol) and LDL (Bad Cholesterol) are present in eggs that will affect the overall health aspect of human body. Eggs tends to create saturated fat that will more enhance the HDL type of cholesterol when consumed on a limited basis. LDL will be increased if the quantity exceeds certain limit that is not suitable for an individual body’s health condition and age. So keeping eggs as a supplementary nutrition and not consuming it as whole meal can have a positive impact in our health.

Eating one to two eggs have shown increasing the good cholesterol resulting in the protective shield for body to fight against heart disease. Eggs are rich sources of Vitamin E, Proteins, Lutein, Selenium and other essential minerals. All these nutrients play a vital role in reducing inflammation, developing brain cells and providing satiety.
