This happened yesterday in Chennai as the residents were happy due to the rains and they welcomed the rains. The residents got a huge relief from the scorching heat. The data from RMC has brought out that the rains reduced the unbearable heat that was there in Chennai and the climate became cooler.
From the usual 38.4 degrees Celsius, the temperature dipped to 28.1 degrees Celsius yesterday at Meenambakkam. This drop in the temperature by 10.3 degrees Celsius has caught the attention now.
At Nungambakkam, there was a drop of 8.1 degrees Celsius to 29.3 degrees Celsius. Here the normal temperature is 37.4 degrees Celsius. Even in usually hot Tiruttani, a suburb of Chennai, the heat dipped by 9.5 degree Celsius. It is known to us that normally Erode would be very hot. Here also, the temperatures decreased due to the rains and the maximum was 35.8 degrees only yesterday.
There was a significant decline in the temperature in other places close to the coast. For example in places like Puducherry, Nagapattinam and Karaikal etc located near to the coast the temperatures decreased yesterday.
