Chennai Meteorological Centre director Ramanan has mentioned that so far Tamil Nadu has received 47 cms rainfall which is more than usual.

Chennai is presently receiving heavy rainfall and the same is expected tomorrow as well. District collectors in Chennai , Tiruvallur & Kanchipuram districts have declared holiday for all schools and colleges tomorrow.

Heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours
Director of Regional Meteorological Centre S R Ramanan said that the trough of low pressure has moved westwards near Kanyakumari and coastal districts will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours.
