Free Bus Pass Scheme For Students

School Students need to follow some steps to utilize the free bus pass scheme of Tamil Nadu Government: The students sign up applying to their school headmasters or principal for getting free bus pass. Parent of the student should submit written application with the attachment of a passport size photo of the student and current address proof. Students will then immediately get their free bus pass smart card which has an expiry of 5 years. This free bus pass scheme is not only for the school students but also for the students studying in Government Arts and Science colleges, polytechnic colleges, and Industrial training institutes to get free bus travel for reaching the college. TamilNadu Government has spent about 504.31 crore rupees for this free bus pass scheme. Under this, 31.11 lakh students from a poor background will be beneficiaries to get the free transportation facilities to make their education easy and bearable at all.
