In response to public demand, the Registration Department has announced that additional reservation booths will be arranged in all Sub-Registrar Offices on the auspicious day of Karthigai, 27 November 2025.
In a press release, the Head of the Registration Department stated that more document registrations take place on auspicious days, and hence additional booths are being provided for the convenience of the public. Based on requests received from various sections of society, the number of reservation booths has been increased as follows:
- Offices with one Sub-Registrar: 150 booths instead of 100
- Offices with two Sub-Registrars: 300 booths instead of 200
- High-volume offices: 150 Ordinary reservation slots instead of 100
Additionally, 4 more Tatkal booking tickets will be issued for public use, in addition to the existing 12 Tatkal tickets.
This initiative aims to reduce waiting time and streamline document registration services for the public.
