A new course has been introduced in the undergraduate curriculum named Re-engineering for Innovation`. This new course has been introduced now by taking into account the global educational trends and changing requirements etc.
The board of studies consisting of academicians, experts from industries, scientists from R & D wings and alumni etc have taken huge efforts to design slew of courses and AU now has introduced these courses to meet the market demand.
The syllabus has been designed in such a way that the students would gain exposure to emerging technologies, sustainability practices and life skills needed in the current situation.
Introduction of Capstone design project:
In the fifth semester of the programme, a Capstone design project has been introduced. By this, product development would be made mandatory. It was brought out by a circular that project teams would be formed from several disciplines encouraging a trans- disciplinary approach and teamwork.
In the first year under graduation, the students from several disciplines would undergo hands-on practical sessions in a course named Re-engineering for Innovation. The circular mentioned that this would make the students rethink and redesign existing systems, processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness and adaptability etc.
As a part of the curriculum to prepare the students and make them well versed in the practical applications and industry practices, industry oriented courses have been included in 2 semesters. In the affiliated institutions a course on foreign language has been introduced and also the English skills would be improved. The students could study either Japanese or German or Korean language.
