Since the imposition of lockdown throughout the country as a preventive against the spreading of the raging coronavirus, the central government has canceled the NEET (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test to pursue medical courses).
A pass in NEET is mandatory for admission to medical courses such as MBBS and BDS, etc, It had been scheduled earlier to be conducted on 3rd May.
In this situation, the central government had announced lockdown throughout the country for 21 days as a preventive action against the coronavirus spread.
Further, the examination of some subjects are set to be conducted in the +2 Public Examinations as well!
Hence, the central government has decided to postpone NEET as well!
The central minister for Human Welfare, Rajesh Pokhriyal, in a press interview, informed:
�The students and their parents have to undertake journeys to write NEET at various centers. In order to prevent this hardship, it has been decided to postpone NEET!�
NTA (National testing Academy) Director-General Vineet Joshi observed in this regard:
`As the impact of the raging coronavirus pandemic has been devastating, with the whole life-routine of the citizens being affected, NEET, which had been scheduled to be conducted on 3rd May, is being postponed in order to prevent hardships on this accord for the parents and the students! It is expected that normalcy would return sooner! NTA, along with the concerned ministry will then review the situation and make a decision. Presently, we have planned that NEET to be conducted during the end May.�
