HOW TO PREPARE FOR PUBLIC EXAMS?

Posted on: 10/Dec/2010 5:34:52 AM
Studying is only one of the parts in the preparation to get good marks in the exam. No matter how hard you study, as a student if you don`t know how to go about preparing or taking the exam, you will not be able to achieve as much as you want.

First step in preparation of the exam is to know how important the examination is to you. Based on the  course you are going to pursue , say Engineering, Medical  and so on , you should know the required Marks level and set the target  at least 20% above that . For example: if you have to join only Government Engineering college as the fees are one tenth of the private engineering colleges. The target should be in the band of 95 – 100%. My target should be able to score 120 %.i.e. if you are allowed to answer all questions instead of leaving them in choice you should be able to score 120 marks again. In other words you should be able to answer all the questions equally well to score maximum. Similarly if your aim is getting 60%, you must set your target at 80% and if your aim is only to pass then your target should be 60%. For example: If you want jump 5’6’’ you must develop capability to jump 6 Feet – only then will you jump 5’6” in 10 out 10 times. Otherwise you will definitely trip at least in 5 tries out of 10. For instance in a match, you are given only three tries for the record 5’6”for which you are not hundred percent sure that you will jump 5’6”. You have to take into considerations the aspects of nervousness and tension, in a match or an examination, which is very natural.
