Procedure to apply for LPG cooking gas subsidy

The LPG cooking subsidy direct payment scheme has been implemented in 54 districts in the country.
In Tamil Nadu, this will come into effect from 1st January.
Consumers can apply for this till 31st March, 2015.
If this opportunity is missed, there is a risk of losing this direct subsidy payment forever.
Consumers must have a savings account in a bank. When they buy the cylinder after making full payment, the government subsidy amount will be deposited in this account.
The payment of the subsidy will continue after this.
The subsidy amount will be deposited within 3 to 4 days after buying the cylinder.
The procedure is simple.
The consumer under whose name the gas transaction is registered will have to contact the gas agency.
He/she has to furnish the Aadhar card number and the bank savings account number in the forms 1 & 2 given. Form 1 should be submitted to the bank and the form 2, to the gas agency.
If the consumer does not have Aadhar card, he/she will have to get the forms 3 &4 from the gas agency and fill up. Form 3 should be submitted to the bank and the form 4, to the gas agency.
A receipt with bank seal will be for the form submitted taken from the bottom part of the perforated form. This should be kept safely.
This completes the procedure. This process will now continue for the subsequent purchases of cylinders.
